my own kind of paradise

We celebrated the end of the school year and the beginning of Summer with a little family get-away to our favorite little paradise south of the border -- Rocky Point, Mexico.

I adore my sweet family and love nothing more than escaping with them to a place that not even cell phones can find us. My kids love the beach as much as I do, especially this little beach baby below who asks me nearly every morning if we can go to the beach today :)

Fall Break in Mexico

We can never get enough of the beach, and for Fall Break this year we headed back to one of our very favorite places... Rocky Point, Mexico.

Seriously relaxing.
Seriously fun.
Seriously want to go back - Like... right now!

Luke wakes up every morning and tells me, "I want to go to the beach today."
I say, "Me too."
And then I ask him what he likes about the beach and the list always goes something like this:

swimming, sand, mangos, and ice cream

Sounds pretty perfect to me!

We really had a great time and I took about a million pictures, having fun experimenting with my new fancy schmancy lens Dave surprised me with for our anniversary this summer.

(Oh, and... after a year on the wait list I will finally begin the photography classes I have been so excited to take in January! Woohoo!)

Rocky Point, Mexico

The kids were out of school the 3rd week of March for Spring break. I know we just went on a big fancy trip. I know. But with these beautiful beaches just 3 1/2 hours away... and with 4 crazy kiddos home all week, well -- it's just too hard to resist a get-away to our favorite little paradise in Mexico.

There is something so calm and relaxing about sitting on the beach, watching my children dig and splash and play, listening to the waves, eating mangos and helado all day, feeling the warm sun on my shoulders and the sand between my toes, exploring the tide pools, collecting shells, taking in the gorgeous sunsets...


(Oh, and did I mention that we don't have cell service in Mexico :)

Rocky Point, Mexico - Fall break 2009

We were so excited for Fall Break this year! We headed back to Rocky Point, our favorite family paradise in Mexico. This year was extra special and fun because the Boise Buhrleys flew into Phoenix and joined us -- making for a fabulous trip! We all had so much fun -- my kids were in heaven hanging out with their cousins. The water was warm, the weather was lovely and the company was even better!! I think having them come with us just might have to be a new addition to the tradition-- what do you say guys? :) Of course we took tons of pictures -- These are some of my favs... Enjoy!!
