Spring Photo Shoot

I attended an intense, all-day, photography workshop a couple of weeks ago. It was something I had been longing to do for quite a while. It was inspiring, rekindling the artist/designer in me. It was taught by Nicole Hill Gerulat, an amazingly talented photographer. Check this out for lots of beautiful eye candy and see what I mean. I was very grateful for my degree in Design (which included a couple of photography classes, a few :) years ago) because the pace was a little mind boggling and at least I knew well the principles of design. If I had to learn composition, the rule of thirds, juxtaposition... AND the ins and outs of metering, F-stop, shutter speed, ISO, white balance... I think I might have been completely overwhelmed.

So... this is my first little shoot -- all manual! I have lots and lots of practicing to do and tons more to learn, but here are some sweet pics of my very favorite subjects.

Wow! Great job! I would LOVE to take a photography class someday. I get so frustrated that I dont know how to make my pictures turn out better. Maybe one day I can find some time and money to take a class! Or maybe we can do it together...girls weekend?

You are amazing!! You are a wonderful photographer...even with out crazy, overwhelming classes. (I mean for me it would be crazy and overwhelming :)) I love your subjects! They are so darling!! Great job, and WOW I'm totally impressed. I'd love to take a photography class, but I don't understand a thing you just said! That might be a problem. Maybe I'll have to start at an extremely basic level! Can't wait to see more of your beautiful work :)

I have been taking photography too! I just got my camera and I have a lot of practicing too, but yours look sooo good. It doesn't hurt that you have the cutest little models around :)

Your pictures look great! I'm so glad you ended up taking that class. I'd love to hear more about it. We need to get together again soon! (I'm thinking about signing Brook up for soccer again this fall. Is Ash going to play?)

Awesome job Wend - they are beautiful! The pictures are great too, but really I'm talking about Ash and Luke. It's hard to go wrong with subjects like that. Hey, do me a favor, there is a way to post a feed on facebook by clicking a button on your blog - that way I'll know when you make changes, and I won't miss anything. Love you guys! Miss you tons.
